But no! I totally appreciate visiting Michigan’s hot spots as well! There is definitely a reason it’s so popular. And for many, it’s a bucket list thing. Plan a visit to the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary nearby Hickory Corners, Michigan! It’s a fantastic spot to see animals all year round. We loved visiting during a sunny, winter day to see all the ducks, swans, and other waterfowl hanging out.

Family Holiday Getaway to Kalamazoo

Two years ago, my family and I traveled to Kalamazoo after we learned there is a reindeer herd there. Yes – reindeer! Then last winter, we returned and spent a day in nearby Hickory Corners taking advantage of all the great holiday features there. Now, after returning to the area for a third holiday season, it’s safe to say our family HIGHLY recommends a family holiday getaway to Kalamazoo! Perhaps, this is our new tradition?

With reindeers, giant candy canes, a free holiday trolly, Santa’s workshop, and walk through light experiences, there are so many unique holiday attractions to take advantage of in Kalamazoo!
