Family Holiday Getaway to Kalamazoo

Two years ago, my family and I traveled to Kalamazoo after we learned there is a reindeer herd there. Yes – reindeer! Then last winter, we returned and spent a day in nearby Hickory Corners taking advantage of all the great holiday features there. Now, after returning to the area for a third holiday season, it’s safe to say our family HIGHLY recommends a family holiday getaway to Kalamazoo! Perhaps, this is our new tradition?

With reindeers, giant candy canes, a free holiday trolly, Santa’s workshop, and walk through light experiences, there are so many unique holiday attractions to take advantage of in Kalamazoo!

Mini, Family Friendly Day Trip to Kalamazoo

Kalamazoo is one area my family hasn’t explored much of recently. After doing some research, I discovered Vicksburg, a town south of Kalamazoo, has a free historic village. Now that Winston is walking, we’re trying to find interesting places outdoors to allow him to safely explore. At the same time, I wanted to pop into downtown Kalamazoo and walk around a little bit since the weather on this particular day was gorgeous. So here’s a mini day trip to the Kalamazoo area you may be interested in!
