Are you looking for a winter activity to make you forget how grey our Michigan sky is??
You need to try dog sledding in Michigan. These doggos are just as fast as they are cute!
We tried dog sledding out at Treetops Resort in Gaylord. The dog sled ride is provided by Team Evergreen Kennel & goes for a mile.
Kids & adults are welcome to try it out with advance registration on Treetops website. The cost is $65 per person & $30 if an additional person is in the sled. Rides are available in 2023 on 1/28 & 1/29; 2/4, 2/5, 2/18, 2/19, 2/25, 2/26.
Luckily I thought ahead before booking our rides. After Winston and I finished our ride, he immediately exclaimed, “Again!” Well, sure! Luckily my husband was interested in his own ride so we booked a second round for him to enjoy with Winston. Then, after both of our rides, there was still time to pet the dogs to thank them for such a unique experience.
Other dog sled ride options in Michigan include:
- Natures Kennel in McMillan
- Husky Haven in Shingleton
- Shanty Creek Resort in Bellaire

More Activities to Do at Treetops
An obvious choice when booking a stay at Treetops is going skiing or snowboarding. But, this resort truly is an all season resort with plenty of other activities as well. During winter, they also host horse drawn sleigh rides, lantern snow shoe hikes, and cross country skiable feasts!
During the winter, Treetops is a prime summer golf destination and home to beautiful scenic hikes across its property.
