Perks of Visiting Mackinac Island During Fall

Mackinac Island is Michigan’s top travel destination and for extremely great reasons. The island is car free ever since the late 1800s – so to get around the island, people bike, walk, or rent a taxi driven by horses! Its history and interesting geological features such as Arch Rock are also big draws. And to even get to the island, one must board a ferry from either Mackinaw City or St Ignace to cross the straits of Mackinac. The most popular time to visit the island is between Memorial and Labor Days during the summer. However, there are several perks of visiting Mackinac Island during the fall.

Things to Do in Kalkaska

When many Michiganders think of places to vacation in Northern Michigan, Traverse City, Charlevoix, and Petoskey are often top of mind. But Kalkaska is an up and coming underrated gem of a destination with a blossoming number of things to do. And it is extremely convenient, affordable, and beautiful to stay overnight here.

During our recent 2 night trip, we stayed at Quinn Cabin – a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin ON A LAKE. Vacation doesn’t get any better than watching a sunset over a lake then retreating into a quiet, cozy cabin. How peaceful! Take me back!
