This week I wanted to try something fun and different so I put together a spring break in Michigan quiz. I’m so over winter, especially with the blisteringly cold days and endless snow. So I decided to think spring and started planning some spring outings for my family. Then I got on a roll and thought up this Michigan themed spring break quiz!
The quiz is set up pretty basic (think back to the quizzes in magazines). But that’s the fun of it! I’m not collecting any data behind the scenes. Or making you sign up to my newsletter to receive the result (although, feel free to subscribe for more great day trip and Michigan travel inspiration)!
To receive your result, simply calculate how many of each letter you answered. If you answered mostly 1’s, jump to the the corresponding answer. And so on for the other number answers. Simple! 🙂

My recommended list of things to see and do in Detroit:
- Visit one (or all) of Detroit’s fantastic museum’s. The options are endless and include museum’s such as the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Wright Museum, and The Henry Ford Museum.
- If you’re into architecture, Detroit has some stellar art deco style buildings. Don’t miss taking a tour of the Guardian and Fisher buildings.
- Also be sure to spend some time wandering down Woodward Avenue taking in the monuments and sculptures like the Spirit of Detroit and Joe Lewis fist. Or consider taking a guided tour of the main attractions! This is especially great if it’s your first time in Detroit.
- Go shopping at Eastern Market.
- Spend some time at Belle Isle. Unfortunately some attractions on Belle Isle such as the aquarium and botanical conservancy are closed to prevent the spread of COVID.

If you answered mostly 2’s, you should Spring Break in Traverse City!

- Whether you’re visiting for Spring Break or any other occasion, be sure to eat at The Flying Noodle. It is so good!

- Choose from one or a few of the wonderful wineries located on the Old Mission or Leelanau Peninsulas.
My recommended list of things to see and do in Traverse City:
- If you truly want a beach vacation without traveling down to Florida, spend as much time relaxing by the pool or in the waterpark of Great Wolf Lodge for as long as you can!
- While Lake Michigan isn’t as warm or salty as the ocean, there are some places to appreciate a stellar view. My favorite spot to appreciate turquoise water along Lake Michigan is at the end of the Pyramid Point hiking trail at the Sleeping Bear Dunes. The view from there is better than any view of the ocean I’ve ever seen.
- Cruise up to the top of the Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsula’s and check out the Mission Point and Grand Traverse Lighthouses.
- If you’re traveling with younger children, I recommend exploring the Fairy Trail at the Historic Barns Park.

If you answered mostly 3’s, you should Spring Break in Frankenmuth!

- First you should definitely take in the picturesque Bavarian themed downtown. It is extremely charming!
- Dive deeper into the town’s culture and history at the Frankenmuth Historical Museum.
- For a memorable experience, enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride.
- Go shopping at the at the Frankenmuth River Place Shops.
- Get your photo taken at the Holz-Brucke Wooden Bridge.
- And don’t forget to stop at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland!

- Finally, visit the sled dogs at Otter River Sled Dog Training Center.
